The restoration project “Opel Admiral” of the Habmuller studio has been started in 1998. The car was bought in 1998 at Exotic. Next year it looked differently, but it wasn’t its final appearance. The chassis was assembled by original aggregations, the frame was restored, the front part of the body ( the part which doesn’t have a wooden carcass0 and the wooden carcass have passed preliminary restoration procedure. Further works the body iron, wooden carcass, engine and other parts of engine has developed slowly until spring 2005. At present moments the restoration works are being done actively. The automobile is getting ready to be dyed and the reinforcing details are being restored. A more detailed information about the restoration process of this very automobile will come soon.

The car is almost ready to be painted, except for the bonnet and back fenders. In order to check the car once again, we assembled the car. Besides, it is much easier to work with the bonnet. It is not allowed to work on the fenders. The original wheel arcs of the back fenders were closed by the metal panels, panels were produced long ago but we don’t know the way of mounting them. But the decision will be found – Design Office is working. In order not to waste time we fill up the moldings and emblems with powder stain. We ordered and got a new rubber of original size ( 6.5x16).

If you look at the last update you will think that all this time there had been a pause in our work. We really had a pause at our workshop. But the car took advantage of this pause. The design documentation on making copies of original components has been prepared, the car has changed. The engine has been diagnosed, and restoration process has begun.
With the help of our collegues ( “Karetniy Dvor”) we managed to complete the engine with original capping. So, this project is being better complete now. In some period of time the true admirers of this model will get the original pane gland and some engine components. So, just wait for some time.
